| Description | Putatiave homolog of Saccharomyces cerevisiae SPT5. The yeast protein forms a complex with Spt4p and mediates both activation and inhibition of transcription elongation, and plays a role in pre-mRNA processing. Signature Pfam motifs are two tandem Supt5 domains with unknown function and several KOW (Kyprides, Ouzounis, Woese) motifs that are found in a variety of ribosomal proteins and in some proteins involved in transcriptional and translational regulation. |
